Tropical Rainforest Conservation
The positive impact that humans have on the tropical rainforest is organizations are preserving it by creating protection forests such as the Sungai Wain Protection Forest. The protection forest was created to preserve a beautiful area of an Indonesian tropical rainforest. The Sungai Wain Protection Forest is a perfect example of how we should be protecting our rainforest. The negative impact that people have on the tropical rainforest is some crops that farmers are growing on the land are invasive to native species. Logging is also destroying our rainforests. It eliminates valuable trees that serve as homes to diverse animals species, as well as reduces the overall oxygen content of the world. Since logging is mandatory to receive wood, loggers can do something to help the rainforests. They can leave some trees in the area so that succession can take place.

A major issue in the tropical rainforest is hunters are poaching endangered animals, which often leads to permanent extinction. To solve this, humans can create wildlife sanctuaries for these threatened animals. The pygmy three-toed sloth is on the critically endangered list. If we don’t take action to save it, it will meet its fate of extinction.

This young orangutan is also on the endangered species list. Now, who would want a wonderful animal like that to disappear?

Another problem that the tropical rainforest faces is people cutting it down to create cattle pastures. If we don’t do something about it soon, the rainforests will be covered in cow patties! Gross!!!! L We can help to prevent this from happening by, of course, cleaning up after our precious household cows. Or, we can use land that is naturally treeless. If no treeless land is available, we can cut down the trees- but use as much of the trees as we can.

Tropical Rainforests used to cover 14% of the land's surface. Now, they only cover 6%. What has the world come to?
